Wipro announced on Saturday that its CEO Thierry Delaporte will be leaving the company immediately to pursue interests outside of the workplace. Srini Pallia, who currently serves as the head of the Americas for the company, will be taking over as the new CEO.
Chairman Rishad Premji expressed gratitude to Delaporte for his leadership, stating that the changes he implemented have positioned Wipro well for the future. Under Delaporte’s leadership, the company optimized its structure, enhanced leadership, prioritized partnerships, and improved efficiency.
Delaporte became the CEO and managing director of Wipro on July 6, 2020, after joining from Capgemini group where he served as CEO and member of the executive board for 25 years. He succeeded Abidali Neemuchwala, who left his position on June 1, 2020.
Delaporte’s departure is the latest in a series of high-profile exits from Wipro. Last September, CFO Jatin Pravinchandra Dalal stepped down after a 21-year career with the company and was replaced by Aparna C Iyer.
