Snowflake Cortex
LLM Functions – in public preview
Snowflake Cortex is an intelligent, fully managed service that provides cutting-edge large language models (LLMs) as serverless SQL/Python functions. With Snowflake Cortex, teams can utilize task-specific functions to efficiently execute complex tasks like translation, sentiment analysis, and summarization at a low cost and without the need to set up integrations, move data, or provision GPUs. Streamlit
Streamlit 1.26 – in public preview
Snowflake now supports Streamlit version 1.26, offering users more options for building data apps directly within Snowflake’s secure environment. This update introduces new features like st.chat_input and st.chat_message, enabling the creation of conversational interfaces in data apps. Users can interact with data applications using natural language, enhancing accessibility and user-friendliness. Snowflake Horizon
Sensitive Data Custom Classification – in public preview
In addition to standard classifiers, Snowflake customers can now create their own classifiers using SQL with custom logic to identify sensitive data specific to their organization. This enhancement offers greater flexibility in data classification, enabling customers to detect and classify more data effectively. Learn more about this feature.
Data Quality Monitoring – in public preview
Data Quality Monitoring in Snowflake provides built-in metrics such as null counts, time since the object was last updated, and count of rows inserted into an object. Snowflake Data Clean Rooms – now generally available in select regions
Customers in AWS East, AWS West, and Azure West can now access Snowflake Data Clean Rooms, enabling secure data collaboration for both technical and non-technical users. Snowflake Data Clean Rooms are a Snowflake Native App available on Snowflake Marketplace, offering a seamless way to utilize data clean rooms without additional access fees. Snowflake CLI – public preview
The new Snowflake CLI is an open-source tool that provides developers with a flexible interface for managing application lifecycles across various workloads within Snowflake.
