BRS leader Krishank criticized Telangana’s Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan during a joint session of the Legislature, and was subsequently criticized by netizens.
\”The people of Telangana have clearly expressed their desire to free themselves from 10 years of oppression,\” she stated.
“Telangana is now breathing the fresh air of freedom and liberty. It has been liberated from autocratic rule and dictatorial tendencies,” she added, emphasizing that people are already experiencing the change.
In response, Krishank stated on X platform: \”Neither today’s Governor nor today’s Chief Minister spent a day in Jail during the Telangana Agitation. Both of them did not face a lathi blow, a tear gas shell, or even a police case. The irony is that the Governor’s speech is about the Liberation of Telangana!!\”
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi leader is referring to the agitation led by BRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao in 2013 to demand the creation of Telangana as a separate state from Andhra Pradesh.
The present government expressed gratitude to all the people, parties, leaders, and the then UPA government, as well as former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, for the creation of Telangana as a separate state in 2014, respecting the long-standing aspirations of the people, she said.
“On behalf of the four crore people of Telangana, the present government thanks Mrs. Sonia Gandhi, the former chairperson of UPA, for her significant role in the process of creating Telangana as a separate state,” she added, while also paying tribute to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood.
Meanwhile, netizens criticized Krishank for his post, as the Congress party, to which the current CM Revanth Reddy belongs, was responsible for the creation of Telangana.
Some questioned what the KCR government has done for the 1,200 people who died for the Telangana cause.
The Congress government will identify the families of those who sacrificed their lives for the cause of Telangana statehood and provide them with 250 sq yards of house sites and an honorarium, she announced.
Regarding the Kaleshwaram Project, the Governor stated: “We have promised the people that we will investigate the irregularities, lack of quality, and corruption in the construction of the Medigadda and Annaram Barrages of the Kaleshwaram Project. Our action plan will focus on this.”

Loans obtained indiscriminately from every corporation during the previous regime have put the state in a financial mess and crisis, she remarked.
The most pressing challenge for the government currently is to improve the financial situation in the state urgently, she added.
In a separate post on X, Krishank asked Soundararajan if she ever “cared to ask those in Delhi to reconsider the ITIR for Telangana State”.
On July 29, 2023, Union Minister of State for Electronics and Information Technology Rajeev Chandrasekhar informed the Telangana government that the Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) project has been cancelled, leading to strong protests from the state.
