The Mood of the Nation survey by CVoter and India Today group has revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath are considered the most suitable leaders to succeed PM Narendra Modi. The survey predicts a clear majority for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections and attributes the party’s success to the appealing charm of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
According to the survey, the NDA is expected to secure 335 seats, a decrease of 18 seats from its previous tally of 353 in 2019. On the other hand, the INDIA bloc is projected to win 166 seats.
With speculations about PM Modi’s third term after the Lok Sabha elections, concerns have been raised about the BJP’s leadership after him. The survey indicates that 29% of respondents believe Union Home Minister Amit Shah is the best candidate to succeed PM Modi, while 25% voted for Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath as the next great leader.
Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari secured the third spot with 16% of the votes supporting him.
The survey predicts a clean sweep for the NDA in North India and a strong performance in the East and West regions. However, the Opposition is expected to perform well in the South. The survey suggests that the government’s success is attributed to issues such as Ram Mandir, the abrogation of Article 370, and the handling of COVID-19. However, unemployment remains a major concern for the government.
In terms of vote share, the survey predicts a vote share of 45% for the NDA and 38% for the INDIA bloc. Party-wise, the survey shows a vote share of 40% for the BJP and 19% for the Congress.
