The G2 team here, including myself, has been busy celebrating our Best Software Award winners since they were announced on February 6th. We are still going strong, but I wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of the trends and data behind all the excitement.
This year’s awards consist of 34 lists. Eight of these are at the company level, recognizing the best global software companies as well as those in specific regions. Seven lists focus on horizontal products, highlighting aspects like highest satisfaction, fastest growth, or company segment (such as software for enterprises). Additionally, there are nine product lists that specifically focus on function, such as Best Security Products or Best HR Products, consolidating the vast categories on G2 that contribute to these functions.
The larger lists featured 100 winners, the smaller ones 25, with others falling in between. In total, there were 1,865 slots available for the 2024 Best Software Award winners. However, only 0.6% of the G2-listed companies made it to this year’s lists, some earning multiple recognitions.
If you have a passion for B2B SaaS or data analysis like myself, keep reading for a brief analysis of key trends that caught my attention this year.
