This has sparked a debate within the industry, with some skeptical of the proposed ban and others seeing it as an opportunity for U.S.-based drone manufacturers like Skydio to gain market share.
Anzu Robotics, based in Austin, Texas, has entered the U.S. drone market with its Raptor and Raptor T enterprise drones. CEO Randall Warnas recognized the potential impact of a DJI ban and saw an opportunity to provide a solution. By partnering with DJI to manufacture the Raptor drones in Malaysia, Anzu Robotics is able to offer a proven platform to U.S. customers.
The Raptor drones, based on the DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise platform, come equipped with advanced camera technology, long flight times, and range capabilities. Partnering with U.S.-based Aloft AI for flight control software ensures compliance with the country of origin mandate outlined in the proposed legislation.
With a focus on enterprise applications, Anzu Robotics aims to establish itself in the U.S. market and attract distribution partners. If the proposed ban on DJI drones is passed, Anzu Robotics expects to see an increase in demand from existing DJI distribution partners.
