Missiles targeted two bases of Baluchi group Jaish al Adl in Pakistan on Tuesday, as reported by Iranian state media. This occurred a day after Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards conducted missile attacks on targets in Iraq and Syria.
Prior to this, the Baluchi group had carried out attacks on Iranian security forces in the border area with Pakistan.
The Iranian state media reported that these bases were hit and destroyed by missiles and drones, without providing further details.
The attack involved the use of missiles and drones, as stated by the state-run IRNA news agency and state television. Pakistan has not yet acknowledged the attack.
Jaish al-Adl, a Sunni militant group, primarily operates across the border in Pakistan.
These reports of strikes come at a time of heightened tensions in the region, with concerns about a potential spillover of the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
Iran launched missiles into Iraq, targeting what it referred to as an Israeli “spy headquarters” near the U.S. Consulate compound in the city of Irbil, which is located in Iraq’s northern semi-autonomous Kurdish region. Additionally, targets linked to the extremist Islamic State group in northern Syria were also attacked.
The attacks, which resulted in the loss of civilian lives, were considered a “blatant violation” of Iraq’s sovereignty by the Iraqi government, leading to the recall of its ambassador from Tehran.
