The Braun Series 7 has the 360 Flex design so the head can move left/right and front/back. This 360 Flex design allows the shaver to more easily contour to your face. This allows a person to shave with less effort. You can get the same close shave with the Series 5 but you need to twist and move your shoulder, wrist, and elbow. For many people (myself included), the small jump in price to the Series 7 is worth the easier shaving experience.

The choice is up to you. Both provide a close shave. For me, I think the Series 7 is worth the slightly higher price.
