(Bloomberg) — Elon Musk strongly denounced “bogus” media reports accusing him of antisemitism, following his endorsement of antisemitic content in a post on X which caused outrage and led to the alienation of advertisers such as Apple Inc.

The backlash occurred last week after the billionaire Tesla Inc. CEO and X-owner agreed with a post asserting that Jewish individuals possess a “dialectical hatred” towards white people. This message has since received criticism from the White House and several Tesla investors. Even big corporate names like Walt Disney Co. have distanced themselves from the platform formerly known as Twitter.
On Sunday, Musk tweeted his desire for “only the best for humanity.” Hedge fund manager Bill Ackman was among those who defended Musk. Last month, Ackman expressed his interest in pursuing a deal with X Corp. as part of a new investment vehicle that targets private companies seeking to raise $1.5 billion or more, potentially leading them to go public, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Musk has a history of promoting hate speech. His recent post received criticism from politicians and major companies, who have consistently urged him to exercise better control over the content on his platform.
