3 years ago, I was sold the idea of “financial freedom”
I was doing okay financially. To put it in perspective, I would rarely look at price tags before buying anything
When I shared the newly acquired interest with friends,
– They would laugh at me
– Some would even be shocked to know that I too was falling into this trap/scam of “financial freedom”
I soon realized that most of the content I was consuming was leading me down a rabbit hole of buying courses and memberships.
However, the concept in itself was not wrong. The idea was fundamentally correct and thus a lot of snake oil salesmen joined the trend
My first step was to start trading stocks and commodities, and within 6 months I lost a lot of money. But I learned a very important lesson:
– If you can’t read the balance sheet of a company, know why you are investing in a company, and what is the goal of the trade,
IT IS JUST A GAMBLE
Then I slowly started using my Digital Marketing skills to create my own online business. Created courses, content, and digital products
I used my skills to grow that business. It took me two years to reach my version of financial freedom
It gave me a very important perspective about Digital Marketing:
– Learning Digital Marketing to just have a job is underutilizing this craft.
