Officials from the traffic department have stated that traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been halted due to shooting stones in Ramban district.
Travelers are advised to check with traffic control rooms in Srinagar or Jammu before starting their journey,” the officials recommended.
This nearly 300-kilometer long road is crucial for supplying essentials to the landlocked Valley, as all necessary items are transported through this highway.
The section of the highway between Banihal and Ramban town is particularly susceptible to issues like landslides, shooting stones, and cave-ins, often leading to road closures.
