The Congress has released its eighth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha election in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, and Jharkhand. In Jharkhand, Kalicharan Munda, Sukhdeo Bhagat, and Jai Prakashbhai Patel have been named as candidates. Meanwhile, Rao Yadvendra Singh, Tarvar Singh Lodhi, and Pratap Bhanu Sharma will be contesting in Madhya Pradesh. Athram Suguna, Tatiparthi Jeevan Reddy, Neelam Madhu, and Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy are the candidates from Telangana. For Uttar Pradesh, Dolly Sharma, Shivram Valmiki, Nakul Dubey, and Virendra Chaudhary have been chosen.
In addition, the Congress has released its sixth list for Rajasthan and Tamil Nadu. Ramchandra Choudhary, Sudarshan Rawat, Damodar Gurjar, and Prahlad Gunjal are the candidates from Rajasthan, while C Robert Bruce and Tharahai Cuthbert will be contesting in Tamil Nadu.
The Lok Sabha election will take place in seven phases starting April 19, with the counting of votes scheduled for June 4. The BJP has announced candidates for 402 seats, while the Congress has named candidates for 190 constituencies.
In the 2019 election, the BJP won 303 seats, while the INC secured 52 seats. In the 2014 election, the BJP won 282 seats, with the INC winning 44 seats.
